Connecting Control-D/WebAccess Server to Control-D Mainframe

This procedure describes how to connect Control-D/WebAccess Server to the Control-D Mainframe repository, which enables you to view reports on the Control-D/WebAccess Server Web Application. The Control-D/WebAccess Server retrieves reports from the Control-D Mainframe repository to view reports on the Control-D/WebAccess Server Web Application.

You must first connect the Control-D/WebAccess Server Desktop to the Control-D Mainframe repository before you configure the Control-D/WebAccess Server Desktop.

Begin

  1. From the Root directory, navigate to the following location:

    Definitions > Common > Repositories > Control-D/MF Repositories

  2. From the Control-D/MF Repositories folder, right-click, and select Add.

    The New Item window appears.

  3. For each field, define the required parameters, as described in Control-D Mainframe Repository Parameters.

    The Control-D Mainframe repository is connected to Control-D/WebAccess Server Desktop.

  4. Repeat for each Control-D Mainframe repository.

    Control-D/WebAccess Server Desktop can now access a repository in Control-D Mainframe.

Control-D Mainframe Repository Parameters

The following table describes the Control-D Mainframe Repository parameters.

Parameter

Description

Repository Name

Defines the logical name for the Control-D mainframe repository definition.

Description

(Optional) Defines a description of the repository.

TCP/IP Host

Defines the MVS IOA Gateway hostname or IP address.

Enclose the IPv6 address in square brackets, such as, [2001:db8::1:2] when you define the host as an IPv6 address.

TCP/IP Port

Defines the MVS IOA Gateway port.

EBCDIC-ASCII Table

Defines the filename that contains a conversion table to convert EBCDIC to ASCII.

Uppercase

Enables you to change all user-specified filter values to uppercase, except Index Value.

Encrypt Password

Enables you use a password to encrypt files.

Mixed Case Password

Defines a mixed-case password to log in to Control-D/WebAccess Server Desktop and Control-D/WebAccess Server Web Application.

Sysplex Distributor Support

Enables you to distribute the load across multiple Control-D/WebAccess Server images and enhance the scalability and availability.

Tree View

Shows the Control-D Mainframe recipient tree as a folder tree in the Control-D/WebAccess Server Web Application Report List window.

Do not select this parameter when you do not want to the recipients to appear in the Report List window.

Sort Definitions

Enables you to organize the order of the reports that appears in the Report List window.

Using SSL/TLS

(Optional) Enables you to select Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security protocol.

PKCS12 File

Defines the name of the PKCS12 file that holds the keys and certificates.

Default: NSDN.pkcs12

PKCS12 Password

Defines the PKCS12 file password.

Security Level

Determines the security level value for each component to authenticate data.

Valid values:

  • 3: Provides privacy and authentication for the server.

  • 4: Provides privacy and authentication for the client and the server.

SSL Protocol

Determines whether to use SSL or TLS.

Log Level

Determines the SSL log component level.

Cipher

Determines the type of Cipher to use when you encrypt or decrypt data.
