Control-D Delivery Server Distribution Monitor Configuration

The Control-D Delivery Server Distribution Monitor is an application embedded in the Control-D Delivery Server, which enables you to oversee and regulate the job delivery process for all distribution jobs in the job queue. The following procedures describe how to monitor and modify jobs on the Distribution Monitor:

Monitoring Distribution Jobs

The following procedure describes how to monitor distribution jobs on the Distribution Monitor, which enables you to track the status of jobs in the distribution queue.

Begin

  1. From the Root directory, navigate to the following location:

    Configurations > Active Environment> Distribution Server > Distribution_CTD_Delivery

  2. From the Distribution_CTD_Delivery folder, double-click Distribution Monitor.

    The Distribution Monitor window appears.

  3. Click Filter.

    The Filter window appears.

  4. For each field, define the required parameters, as described in Filtering Distribution Jobs Parameters.

  5. Select the Always open the Filter window before invoking the Distribution Monitor checkbox.

    The Distribution Monitor now automatically opens the Filter window.

  6. Click Start

    The Distribution Monitor now distributes jobs.

Filtering Distribution Jobs Parameters

The following table describes the Filter parameter when enables you show distribution jobs, within a predetermined range, on the Distribution Monitor.

Parameter

Description

Job ID

Defines the distribution job number in a numeric format.

Valid values:

  • From: First job ID.

  • To: Last job ID.

Date

Defines the date range, which enables you filter jobs.

Valid values:

  • From: 00:00 of the specified date.

  • To: 23:59 of the specified date.

Priority

Determines the precedence level in the queue, which process distribution jobs according to the priority level.

Valid values: 0−15

Retry Count

Determines the number times Control-D Delivery Server attempts to distribute jobs after a job distribution fails.

Valid values: 0−9999

Destination Type

Determines one of the following destination types to send reports:

Valid values:

  • Local Files.

  • Remote Files.

  • Email

  • LPR

Report Name

Defines the Report Name.

Status

Determines the completion status for distribution jobs.

Valid values:

  • Ended OK: Determines whether the distribution job delivered to the required location.

  • Pending: Determines which Distribution job are in the queue to process.

  • Processing: Determines whether the distribution job delivery confirmed.

  • Ended Not OK: Determines whether to reschedule a distribution job that fails.

  • Failed: Determines whether to reschedule a distribution job that fails after the configured number of retries.

The text color represents the job status:

Valid values:

  • Red: Failed and Ended Not OK.

  • Black: Ended OK.

  • Green: Pending

  • Blue: Processing

Modifying Distribution Jobs

The right-click menu enables you to immediately select a quick action for a selected distribution job from the Distribution Monitor window, which enables you to manage and modify critical distribution jobs.

Begin

  1. From the Distribution Monitor window, select a Job.

  2. Right-click the job and select one of the following options:

    • Resend: Resends the selected distribution job.

    • Refresh: Refreshes the view of a distribution job in the table.

    • Delete: Deletes the selected distribution job.

    • Properties: The Properties window for the selected distribution job appears, as described in Job Properties Parameters.

Job Properties Parameters

The following table describes the properties for a selected distribution job.

Parameter

Description

File

Defines the full path for the decollation output file, which requires distribution.

Attributes

Determines the necessary parameters for distribution for each destination.

Creation time

Defines the time to poll a job for distribution.

Delivery time

Defines the time when you add a job to the distribution database.

Error message

Shows the error message.

Destination address

(Modifiable) Determines the job destination address.

Priority

(Modifiable) Defines the priority of job.
