Installing Control-M Desktop on a Citrix Machine

This procedure describes how to install Control-M client on a physical or virtual Citrix machine.

Begin

1. Install Control-M client, as described in Control-M Client Installation.

2. Open the Web Server port, as described in System Configuration.

3. (Optional) Configure SSL on the Control-M Web Server, as described in Configuring SSL on the Control-M Web Server.

4. Verify that Control-M/EM access permissions are set, and that you have read and write permissions for all files in the user profile directory, as described in Control-M/EM Permissions.

   By default, local profile settings are saved on the local machine, in the %APPDATA%\BMC Software\Control M Enterprise Manager\X.0.0.0\<Instance_Name> directory.

5. Verify that you have read and write permissions for the log settings files.

The following table lists the Control-M/EM permission settings for all users on a Citrix machine.

Local Path	Permissions
<EM DIR>	Read permissions. Verify that all children inherit these permissions.
<EM DIR>\log	Read and write permissions.
<EM DIR>\data	Read and write permissions. Includes templates and the ApplicationForms directory. The TimeZone.dat file includes time zone definitions. Verify that all children inherit these permissions.
<EM DIR>\bin\plugin	Read and write permissions.
<EM DIR>\etc\domains\communication.xml	Read and write permissions. Verify that this file is accessible to all OS users.
<EM DIR>\ini	Read and write permissions for the Control-M/EM Administrator user.
<EM DIR>\client_health_check	Read and write permissions.
<EM DIR>\usagetool	Read and write permissions.
