Control-M/Agent Uninstall

The following procedures describe how to uninstall individual instances of Control-M/Agent from UNIX and Windows computers:

If you want to downgrade to Control-M/Agent Version 9.0.00 fix pack 2 and below and Control-M/Agent is configured with SSL using PKCS12 certificate, do the following:

  • In Control-M/Agent, restore the SSL configuration that uses the PKCS12 certificate to the original certificate configuration before upgrade.

  • In Control-M/Server, restore the SSL configuration that uses the PKCS12 certificate to the original Control-M/Agent certificate configuration before the upgrade.

  • Ensure Control-M/Agent And Control-M/Server are communicating by running the ag_diag_comm and the ctm_diag_comm utilities.

  • If Control-M/Server SSL PKCS12 certificate cannot be changed, Control-M/Agent can work in TCP mode.

This procedure describes how to uninstall Control-M/Agent from UNIX.

  • If you upgraded Control-M/Agent to 9.0.19.200 and above from the following versions and you want to completely remove Control-M/Agent, you need to downgrade Control-M/Agent to the previous version and then uninstall Control-M/Agent.

  • Automation API CLI is not included in 9.0.21.100 on Red Hat 7, CentOS 7, and Oracle Enterprise Linux 7. If you uninstall, Automation API CLI is not restored. It is not saved in the backup directory.

  • Solaris 7.0.00.500, 8.0.00.xxx, 9.0.00.xxx

  • Linux x86_64 (Control-M/Agent 32 bit installation) 7.0.00.500, 8.0.00.xxx

Before You Begin

Ensure that all jobs have ended.

Begin

  1. Do one of the following:

    • If Control-M/Agent is running as root, log in as a user root.

    • If Control-M/Agent is running as non-root and non-root mode is enabled, do the following:

      1. Type the following command:

        <ctm_agentInstallFolder>/ctm/scripts/set_agent_mode

      2. Select the prepare for non root uninstall option, and then log in as the Control-M/Agent owner.

  2. Navigate to the following directory:

    <Agent_InstallFolder>/BMCINSTALL/uninstall

  3. Type one of the following commands:

    • Interactive Uninstall: DRFZ4.9.0.21.000/uninstall.sh

    • Automatic Uninstall: DRFZ4.9.0.21.000/uninstall.sh -silent

    Control-M/Agent is successfully removed from your computer. If you downgraded, Control-M components are up and running.

Before You Begin

Ensure that all jobs have ended.

Begin

  1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel.

  2. Double-click Programs and Features.

  3. Select Control-M/Agent 9.0.21.000, and click Uninstall.

  4. Click OK to continue.

    Control-M/Agent is successfully removed from your computer. If you downgraded, Control-M components are up and running.

This procedure describes how to uninstall Control-M/Agent from Windows via an automatic uninstall.

Before You Begin

Ensure that all jobs have ended.

Begin

  1. Log in to the computer using a user ID that has Administrator permissions.

  2. From a command line, run the following command using the full path:

    <Agent_InstallFolder>\BMCINSTALL\uninstall\DRFZ4.9.0.21.000\uninstall.bat -silent

    3. Control-M is successfully removed from your computer.
