Accessing the Workload Management facility

To enter the Workload Management facility, select option W on the IOA Primary Option menu. The Workload Management Entry Panel is displayed.

The Workload Management facility contains the following screens:

Workload Management Entry Panel

Entry panel for the following aspects of workload management:

  • Management of Workload Policies
  • Management of Load-Indexes

For Workload Policy management, the entry panel offers a choice between two types of Workload Policies:

  • Locally managed Workload Policies created and managed in Control-M for z/OS
  • Globally managed Workload Policies created and managed in Control-M/EM

Workload Policy management

Workload Policies List screen for Local Workload Policies

Displays a list of locally managed Workload Policies and enables you to create new Workload Policies or manage existing Workload Policies.

Workload Policies List screen for Global Workload Policies

Disaplays a list of globally managed Workload Policies from Control-M/EM.

Policy: screen

Displays all settings of a selected (existing) Workload Policy or of a local Workload Policy that you are defining.

Load-Index management

Load-Indexes Definition screen

Displays a list of Load-Indexes and enables you to create new Load-Indexes or manage existing Load-Indexes.

Load-Index: screen

Displays the definitions of a specific Load-Index and enables you to define a new Load-Index or modify an existing Load-Index.

Load-Indexes Status screen

Tracks the current status of all defined Load-Indexes and enables you to override the load level of any specific Load-Index.

Load-Index History screen

Displays a history of load levels and changes for a specific Load-Index.
