Perform the automatic conversion tasks as described in the following subtopics:

1. Collect Information About your CA-1 Configuration
2. Modify Conversion Parameters
3. Compile and Link Conversion Programs
4. Adjust Control-M/Tape Installation Parameters
5. Define Volume Ranges
6. Convert Vault Definitions and Pool Definitions
7. Convert EDM, Pool, Vault and Retention Rules
8. Update the Control-M/Tape Rule Table List Member
9. Stop Tape Processing
10. Run CA-1 Daily Processing
11. Extract Volume and Dataset Information from CA-1 (Produce CA-1 Report)
12. Format the Control-M/Tape Media Database
13. Submit the Conversion Job

Note: If you are currently performing a reconversion (that is, this is not the first conversion at your site), many of these tasks may not be necessary. Considerations for determining whether a task must be performed are listed in the description of each task.
