Adding, deleting and/or changing an SMFID in the computer list

IOA and Control‑M parameters should be changed when:

Updating the SMFIDS ensures that:

If neither CMEM nor Control‑O is installed:

  1. Perform Step 6.3 – Specify IOA computers (optional) to update the SYSID parameter in the IOACPRM member to match the new configuration.
  2. Stop and restart the Control‑M monitor.
  3. If Control‑D is installed and active, stop and restart the Control‑D monitor.

If CMEM or Control‑O is installed:

  1. Stop the Control‑M monitor.
  2. If Control‑O is installed and active, stop the Control‑O monitor using one of the following operator commands:

    F CONTROLO,STOP

    P CONTROLO

One of these commands should be issued in all the computers where Control‑O is active.

  3. If CMEM is active, stop it using one of the following operator commands:

    F CTMCMEM,STOP

    P CTMCMEM

Issue one of these commands on all the computers where the CMEM monitor is active.

  4. Perform Step 6.3 – Specify IOA computers (optional) to update the SIZE, CTM2SBS, SBS2CTM, ID, SYSTEM, and SMFID parameters in the IOACPRM member to match the new configuration.
  5. Select Step 6.2 – Save parameters into IOA libraries. Delete the CTM2SBS file and all the subsystem-to-monitor files.
  6. Reformat all the communication files, that is, the CTM2SBS file and all the subsystem-to-monitor files defined in the SYSID parameter in member IOACPRM.
  7. For additional installation requirements, see Step 7 – Install Event Manager (CMEM)/Control-O interface and Step 9 – Control-M amendments.
  8. Start the Control‑M monitor.
  9. If Control‑D is installed and active, stop and restart the Control‑D monitor.
  10. If Control‑O is installed, start the Control‑O monitor in all computers where it should be active.
  11. If CMEM was active in one or more computers, start it using the following operator command:

    S CTMCMEM

Issue this command on all computers where CMEM is active.
