Implementing system symbols

If you choose to use system symbols in a Multisystem Upgrade, you must implement system symbols on all IOA environments that will be involved in the Multisystem Upgrade process.

Note: Implementation of system symbols is a one-time action, after which you can perform repeated Multisystem Upgrades. However, if you make changes in the system symbols defined in the DEFPARML member (step 2 below), you must repeat the full implementation of system symbols (that is, all steps described below).

The following table summarizes the steps that you must follow to implement system symbols. Mark the Check column of the following table as you complete each step.

Step 6: Activate IOASYM definitions

 

Step 7: Make libraries available to slave IOA environments

 

Step 8: Copy the IOASYM member to the site library

 

Step 9: Copy procedures to site libraries
