The following limitations apply to the Multisystem Upgrade process when you use system symbols. These limitations are in addition to the limitations and requirements discussed in Limitations and requirements.
Differences between corresponding prefixes on the various IOA environments must be limited to cases where these differences can be eliminated by substituting them with system symbols within the prefix value.
For example, the prefixes IOA.DEV.SYSX, IOA.TEST.SYSY, and IOA.PROD.SYSZ satisfy the requirement, because the following generic prefix can be used instead of them: IOA.&ENVTYPE..&SYSNAME. In this generic prefix, the &SYSNAME system symbol is predefined by the operating system, and the &ENVTYPE system symbol is a user-defined system symbol that must be defined on all IOA environments that will be involved in the Multisystem Upgrade procedure (that is, on the master IOA environment and all slave IOA environments).
