Upgrade the master IOA environment using the appropriate ICE facility — either the Upgrade in Place process or the Ad-hoc maintenance process (to APPLY select PTFs).
Note: If system symbols are implemented and you perform an Upgrade in Place process, all components in the master environment (including address spaces, monitors, and IOA online users) must be down when you perform steps 2.3 to 2.12 of the Upgrade in Place process.
Keep a list of all pre-APPLY and post-APPLY actions (such as Holds) that you perform during upgrade or maintenance. You will need this list in subsequent steps of the Multisystem Upgrade process on the slave IOA environments.
