General Information

There are two categories of System variables:

• Read-only variables that cannot be changed by the user.

  These variables, such as SYSVER (Control-M/Analyzer version), SYSDATE (system date) and SYSTIME (system time), are determined by the system.

• Variables that can be changed by the user.

  These variables can be set using DO EXTRACT and DO SET statements. These variables include BARGnn (for passing arguments to a block), RARGnn (for passing arguments to a rule), and SYSCPROCn (for defining sequences of built-in or user-defined processes). System variables can be accessed by:

• A direct reference in a Control-M/Analyzer expression:

  IF 'SYSRULE=REORDER'

• A %% operator variable reference:

  DO PRINT 'RULE TERMINATED OK ON %%SYSDATE'
