Step 3.2 – Control-D data sets

Enter values for the parameters shown in the following table:

Table 71 Control‑D data sets

Data Set

Description

AMFSIZE

Number of records in the Control‑D Active Missions file. The recommended number is twice the number of jobs to be decollated in one day. This parameter determines the number of missions (decollating, printing, archiving for Control‑V, backup, restore) that can be placed on the Active Missions file concurrently.

  • Mandatory.

COMSIZE

The number of entries in the Control‑D internal communication file. The recommended number is 200. If more than 200 local printers are activated at the same time, a larger number should be used.

  • Mandatory.

EAVUSE#D

Allows allocation of Control-D and Control-V files on EAV (Extended Address Volumes). Optional.

Valid values are:

  • OPT- Allows allocation on EAV. Default.
  • NO - Prevents allocation on EAV.

WRKCYL#

Number of cylinders to allocate for Control‑D print plan files.

  • Mandatory.
  • Valid range: 1 through 99.

This file is used for print management. Recommended value: 5 (cylinders).

WRKPREF

Data set name prefix of Control‑D print plan files (used for print management). This prefix must be from 1 through 12 characters in length and may include periods. The last character must not be a period.

  • Mandatory

Verify that the data set name prefix (WRKPREF) is defined in the site security facility and has an alias defined in the user catalog.

WRKUNIT

Default UNIT for Control‑D print plan files. The unit name must be a valid unit name of from 1 through 8 characters.

If WRKVOL is not specified, the volume to be used for print plan files must be defined in the VATLSTnn member in the SYS1.PARMLIB library with an attribute of STORAGE.

WRKVOL

Default volume serial number for Control‑D print plan files. Only one volume can be specified. The volume serial number must range from 1 through 6 characters.

If this parameter is left blank, print plan files are allocated on volumes with status STORAGE in the specified WRKUNIT.

Print plan files are allocated when a printing mission is executed and are deleted when the printing mission is deleted by the Control‑D New Day procedure.
