Step 3.1 – Control-D target libraries and members

ILPREFD

High level data set name qualifiers (prefix) of the Control-D Installation libraries.

  • Mandatory
  • Maximum length: 35 characters

The value specified for this parameter must be different from the values specified for ILPREFx parameters of other products.

ILUNITD

Disk unit on which Control‑D Installation libraries are placed. Specify a generic unit such as 3390, and not SYSDA. The unit name must be a valid unit name of from 1 through 8 characters.

ILVOLD

Volume serial number of the volume on which Control‑D Installation libraries are placed. The volume serial number must range from 1 through 6 characters.

OLPREFD

High level data set name qualifiers (prefix) of the Control‑D Operations libraries and files. This prefix must be from 1 through 27 characters in length and may include periods. The last character must not be a period.

OLUNITD

Disk unit on which Control‑D Operations libraries and files are placed. Specify a generic unit such as 3390, and not SYSDA. The unit name must be a valid unit name ranging from 1 through 8 characters.

OLVOLD

Volume serial number of the volume on which Control‑D Operations libraries and files are placed. The volume serial number must range from 1 through 6 characters.

DBPREFD

High level data set name qualifiers (prefix) of the Control‑D Repository.

  • Mandatory

This prefix must be from 1 through 27 characters in length and may include periods. The last character must not be a period.

DEAVUSE

Allows allocation of Control-D Repository files (IOA Access method) on EAV (Extended Address Volumes). Optional.

Valid values are:

  • OPT- Allows allocation on EAV.
  • NO - Prevents allocation on EAV.

If not defined, the EAVUSE#D value is used by default.

DBUNITD

Disk unit for Control‑D Repository. Specify a generic unit such as 3390, and not SYSDA. The unit name must be a valid unit name of from 1 through 8 characters.

DBVOLD

Volume serial number of the volume on which the Control‑D Repository is placed. The volume serial number must be from 1 through 6 characters.

USERCAT

Name of a user catalog where the Control‑D CDAM files are to be cataloged. The user catalog is created during the installation process. It must not be an OS catalog (SYSCTLG).

Verify that the prefix of the user catalog is not defined in the Master Catalog. For example, assume that the name of the user catalog is CTDV.UCAT. The name CTDV should not already exist in the Master Catalog. This is necessary for CTDV.UCAT to be cataloged in the Master Catalog.
