Start the Control‑M monitor by issuing the following operator command:

S CTMTROLM

If the IOA Online monitor is installed and is already active, stop it by issuing the following operator command:

P IOAOMON1

The IOA Online monitor is used to access the IOA Online facility from CICS, IMS/DC, VTAM monitor (IOAVMON), IDMS/DC, COM‑PLETE, ROSCOE and TSO. Therefore, issuing this operator command immediately terminates the sessions of all Online monitor users. TSO and ROSCOE users who are not using the Cross Memory facility are not affected by this operator command.

Start the IOA Online monitor by issuing the following operator command:

S IOAOMON1

• If the IOA VTAM monitor is installed, see the IOA installation procedure for information about how to start the VTAM monitor.
• If the Control‑M Event Manager subsystem is installed and is not active, you can optionally start it using the following operator command:

  S CTMCMEM

This command must be issued on each computer in which CMEM is to be active.

Note: When starting Control‑M

• if Control‑O monitors will be active, do not start CMEM
• if an enqueue management product is in use at your site, see "QNAME" in Step 4.2 – IOA operational parameters.
