BMC recommends that you create a backup of the IOA and INCONTROL product libraries.

When backing up the installed environment, verify that the Base libraries, Installation libraries, Operations libraries, SMP‑related data sets, and INCONTROL product repositories are backed up together. This backup can help users restore the original IOA environment when required, so that Control‑M can be reinstalled if a significant number of changes are made to the parameters, or when an unrecoverable failure occurs during installation.
