Accessing Reports Through the Global Index Database

Navigation within the Index name and Index value hierarchy through the Global Index database is available in Control-D/WebAccess and in the Control-D/V - User Reports Entry Panel in the IOA facility.

Control-D and Control-V archived reports can be selected through the Global Index database using the Hit-list method when Index names and Index values are specified as part of the selection criteria. Multilevel Index name and value can be specified in the WebAccess filter. Main Index name and value can be specified in the Control-D/V User Reports Entry Panel of the Online facility (option U on the IOA Primary Option menu).

When a multilevel Index name and value is specified in the WebAccess filter the reports are always selected through the Global Index database.

When a single level Index name and Index value is specified in the WebAccess filter or the User Reports Entry Panel, the Global Index database is used depending on settings in the optional wish WV0365. If it is set to APPLY=YES and the Index path is included in the member CTDGIDB2, the Global Index database is searched instead of every index file of each report.

If the accessed Index Path values reside in several DB2 tables, the tables are joined for searching by default. You can specify a table name suffix and use only one table from the list to improve performance. The table name suffix can be specified in the filter field CATEGORY by the sentence TBL=<table name suffix>. For example, path 004 (PATH=004) includes the following DB2 tables (see Global Index Interface):

If the user specifies TBL=08 in the filter field CATEGORY, only table CTD.GIRDN08 will be searched.
