Xerox Reports

Xerox resources are physically located in the Xerox printer. For the transformation process to work for Xerox reports, all Xerox resources must be placed in libraries on the mainframe, using the following guidelines:   

• Member names should be the same as the resource names without an extension.
• If a resource name begins with a digit, add the "$" or "@" character at the beginning of the corresponding member name.
• All resources should be in binary format, except for the JSL resource and syscatlg, which must be in text format (EBCDIC).

Downloading Xerox Resources—To download Xerox resource files from the printer, use one of the following methods:

• Download resources from a Xerox printer to a diskette using the XEROX LPS FLOPPY command. The following resource files must be downloaded:
  • *.frm
  • *.lgo
  • *.jsl
  • *.fnt
  • *.img
  • *.ict
• Download resources to a cartridge using the following commands:

Libraries—The required Xerox libraries.

Resources—For the transformation, the following font resources must always be available:

• Forms$
• Formsx
• L0112b

In addition, the following text resources should be available:

• SYSCATLG
• ZZZRES
• PROMET

Sample resources are supplied in the IOA SAMPREPS library.

Parameters—You must specify the JSL and JDE parameters in the Report Clique.

If the JSL resource that is referenced by the report refers to a JDE/PDE that is not found in the JSL, add a line to the syscatlg resource with the JSL name that contains that JDE/PDE.

In this example, the JDE/PDE name is PP0010, located in the PDE001 JSL member.
