Volume Defragmentation and Compaction

If a job is ordered or submitted while DASD volumes containing IOA or Control‑M libraries are being defragmented or compacted by DASD management products, the library may be in use, not found or not cataloged—causing the job not to be submitted. To avoid this problem, defragment or compact volumes containing IOA or Control‑M libraries only when Control‑M is down, or no jobs contained in or referencing these libraries are being ordered/submitted.

At sites where running the above type of DASD housekeeping while Control‑M is active is unavoidable, carefully set the following parameters (defined in member CTMPARM of the IOA PARM library) to alleviate the problem:
