Journal file initialization is performed by the Control‑M monitor as part of New Day processing after the Newday procedure has completed OK. Initialization consists of the following steps:
Journal file initialization - All previous data in the Journal file is deleted. The file is initialized with date information that establishes synchronization with the Active Jobs file.
Active Jobs file snapshot - A snapshot of the Active Jobs file is taken. If the Active Jobs file must be restored, this snapshot file serves as the base file upon which restoration is performed.
IOA Conditions file snapshot - A snapshot of the prerequisite conditions in the IOA Conditions file is taken. If the IOA Conditions file must be restored, this snapshot file serves as the base file upon which restoration is performed.
