The destinations for e-mail messages sent by IOAMAIL can be specified using several methods, enabling you to send a single e-mail message to several destinations. Different methods can be used for the destinations.
IOAMAIL e-mail destinations can be specified using:
Example
joe_smith@acme.com
IOAMAIL uses the DFLTSFFX parameter in the IOAPARM member as the default suffix for the user name. The result is a fully specified destination name.
Example
If you specify joe_smith, and the default suffix in the DFLTSFFX parameter is acme.com, IOAMAIL completes the resulting e-mail address as joe_smith@acme.com. (Note that the @ character is taken from the ATSIGN parameter in the IOAPARM member.)
IOAMAIL searches for the nickname in the set of predefined nicknames in the MAILDEST member. Each nickname and full e-mail address are specified in separate lines in that member.
For example, if Joe Smith has the e-mail address joe_smith@acme.com, and is to be given the nickname JOE, the definition will appear in the MAILDEST member as
NICK=JOE
ADDR=JOE_SMITH@ACME.COM
If the destination of an IOAMAIL e-mail is then specified as joe, the e-mail address results in joe_smith@acme.com.
Each IOAMAIL GROUP consists of a group of e-mail recipients. Such a group can comprise any number of e-mail destinations. Each such destination can be defined by reference to
Each destination must be prefixed with the notation TO or CC. When prefixed TO, the e-mail is sent to that destination as an addressee. When prefixed CC, the e-mail is sent to that destination as a copy.
