Installing Control-M Web Services and Messaging API on Windows

This procedure describes how to install Control-M Web Services and Messaging API on Windows. If you want to install multiple instances of Control-M Web Services and Messaging API on several computers using the same configuration, use the automatic installation, as described in this procedure.

To install Control-M Web Services and Messaging API on Windows:

1. Log in to the computer as a user who has Administrator authorization.
2. Do one of the following:
   • From the installation DVD, double-click the Setup.exe file.
   • From a command prompt window, type <DVDROM_path>\Setup.exe.
3. If upgrading, stop the Control-M Web Services and Messaging API Windows services. For more information, see Stopping Control-M Web Services API and Stopping Control-M Messaging API.
4. From the Product Settings - Select application dialog box, select Control-M Web Services and Messaging API.

   NOTE: If you have a previous version of any of the following products, Control-M Web Services and Messaging API automatically detects and upgrades during the installation process:

   • Control-M Web Services API
   • Control-M Messaging API
5. Do one of the following:
   • Interactive install: Continue with the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete.
   • Automatic install: Do the following:
     1. Continue with the on-screen instructions until the Summary window.
     2. Click Generate and select the location to create the XML parameter file.
     3. Click Yes.
     4. Copy the automatic installation parameters file to a network location that is accessible to all computers where you want to perform an automatic installation.
     5. Run the installation script, as follows:

        >cd<DVD>\Windows\Setup_files\components\cm\ifcbpi\setup –silent <filename.xml>

   The installation log can be found at the following location:

   <instance_install_path>\Control-M_API\BMCINSTALL\log\BMC_Control-M_WS_and_MS_API_Install <timestamp>.log

   In case of installation failure, the log file is located in the following location:

   %temp%\BMC_Control-M_Web_Services_and_Messaging_API_Install_<timestamp>.log
