This procedure describes how to create a Control-M for Web Services connection profile in the Control-M Configuration Manager, which enables you to define a Web Services job in Control-M.
- From Control-M Configuration Manager, select Control-M for Web Services on the host that you want to manage, right-click and select WS Connection Profile Management.
The Control-M for Web Services Connection Profile Management dialog box appears.
- Click
.The Add Connection Profile dialog box appears.
- In the Connection Profile Name field, type the name of the connection profile that you want to add.
The connection profile name must begin with a letter and without any blanks or special characters.
- In the Web Service Source field select one of the following from the dropdown list:
- Local File System
- Web Service URL
- REST

- Do one of the following:
- Local File System: In the Web Service Location field type In the Web Service Location field type or click Browse to select the fully qualified path of the folder containing the Web Service WSDL file.
- Web Service URL: In the Web Service Location field type the Web Service location.
- REST: In the URL Location field, type the URL location.
- In the HTTP Authentication field, if required type the specification for simple text authentication for the Connection Profile.
NOTE: HTTP Authentication is effective for this Connection Profile only and overrides any global settings in the Options window, as described in Configuration parameters for Control-M for Web Services.
- (REST only) If log in is required, select the check box and type the REST log in parameters.
- Review the connection profile details and click Test.
If the test completes successfully, the connection profile validates and you can now define a Web Services job, as described in Web Services job definition. If the test fails, review the error message and test it again.
NOTE: If the Cannot send parameters to WS CM Extension error message appears, do the following:
- Open the <Agent>\data\wsprofile.dat and set the WSHOSTNAME to a fully qualified hostname or IP address (this is also necessary in a multi-homed machine).
- If the problem persists, check if the port number for the WSPORTNUM parameter is not already used by another application on the Agent machine and change if necessary
- Click OK.
The connection profile is added to the Control-M for Web Services Connection Profile Management dialog box.
