Running the cli utility

This procedure describes how to run the cli utility, which enables you to run Control-M/EM commands. You must have proper security authorization for any of the actions you perform using cli.

To run the utility:

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Type the following command:

    NOTE: For UNIX, add the em prefix before typing cli.

    cli [-U <user_name> [-P <password>] | -PF <password file>] -H <Server Name>
    [‑T <timeout in seconds] [‑DDMM] [-BY_FORCE] [-ACTION_REASON <reason for taking an audit action> [-ACTION_NOTE <descriptive reason for audit action>] <cmd> <cmd>
