Introduction to Control-M

Control-M enables you to automate the scheduling and processing of your business workflows across various platforms. Schedule and manage every platform and any application from a single point of control. With Control-M, you can manage all your workflows, including file transfer, applications, data sources, and infrastructure with the use of Application Plug-ins.

Control-M also provides predictive analytics to help you identify problems before they impact your business. Track, archive, and report on all activity so you always know which actions were taken and who is responsible.

Control-M is divided into domains which provide a specific set of abilities to manage application workflows:

• Planning: Create scheduling and processing definitions, as described in Control-M Planning.
• Monitoring: View, monitor, and control all enterprise wide batch flows, as described in Control-M Monitoring.
• Tools: Control the Job definition and execution and enhance Control-M functionality through a set of tools, as described in Control-M Tools.
• Configuration: Manage, monitor, configure, and maintain Control-M/Agents, Applications PLug-ins, and Centralized Connection Profiles, as described in Control-M Configuration.
• Control-M Reports: Create and generate ad hoc reports that provide information on definition and operational issues in your Control-M environment. For more information, see Control-M Reports.
