Assigning approval to multiple groups

Administrators can assign reports for approval to multiple groups of authorized users. Such a report is considered approved only after all groups approve it. The report is rejected if any of the groups reject it.

To implement approval by multiple groups (Multi Approval), the administrator must perform the following actions:

For the implementation of Multi Approval, you can choose between two modes of approval:

Description

Multi-level approval

The Administrator defines each successive Approval name as a child of the previous one. Each individual Approval name represents a separate group of authorized users.

The report is available for approval by the main (top parent) group listed in the Approval list in Control-D/Web Access Server upon first step, just after its decollation. The report is available for approval by the next listed (child) group only after it was approved by all preceding (parent) groups.

Parallel approval

The Administrator defines multiple Approval names as children of the main Approval name. Each of the child Approval names represents a separate group of authorized users. However, the main (parent) Approval is not associated with any users.

The report is available for approval by all child groups listed in the Approval list in Control-D/Web Access Server just after its decollation. Approval is performed in parallel by all groups.

For more details, see Multi-level Approvals in Approval Trees, in the Control-D and Control-V User Guide.
