Reviewing and managing job variables

Entering Y in the SETVAR field opens the Job Variables List window (Figure 29a). Here you can review and manage the job's AutoEdit variables for the current order. Variables are listed in alphabetical order.

Through this window you can make the following changes in job variables for the current order:

• Edit variable values.
• Insert a new variable: Enter I in the OPT field of an existing variable, and then type a name and value for the new variable.

  The new, ad-hoc variable is used only during the current order. It is not saved in the job definitions.

For any new variable that you inserted since you entered the Job Variables List window, you can perform the following additional actions:

• Change the name of the variable.
• Remove the variable from the list using the D option.

To apply your changes:

1. Press PF3 to exit the Job Variables List window.
2. Select option 1 to use the modified list of variables for the current order.

   Note: If you change your mind, you can select option 2 to continue with the order using the original variables, or you can select option 3 to cancel the order.
