IOA Archive Server

The IOA Archive server is a started task that provides services for online viewing and immediate printing. These services are used whenever data is required from a migrated CDAM or index dataset which does not reside on DASD.

Communication between the online viewing process and the IOA Archive server is accomplished using cross memory services.

The IOA Archive server receives data retrieval requests from online viewing users. Data from various migrated CDAM datasets that reside on different media may be requested. The server implements request queuing and data caching mechanisms to optimize available resource utilization and return requested data as quickly as possible. For more information about the IOA Archive server, see the Control-D and Control-V chapter of the INCONTROL for z/OS Administrator Guide.
