General Information

One set of STAGE parameters is displayed for stage 01 migration from disk to another media. Another set of STAGE parameters is displayed as each migration stage is defined. A maximum of 10 sets of STAGE parameters can be specified.

Each set of STAGE parameters is divided into two parts: primary migration and secondary migration. For each stage that is specified, primary migration is mandatory and secondary migration is optional. The value specified in parameter AGE for a stage applies to both primary and secondary migration in that stage.

Primary migration uses parameter DSNPREF in the IOASPRM member. Secondary migration uses parameter SECPREF in the same macro.

By default, users access the files produced by primary migration. Utility CTDUPBKP can be used to switch user access between the files produced by primary and secondary migration. For more information about the work flow of migration missions, see the Control-D and Control-V chapter of the INCONTROL for z/OS Administrator Guide.

Parameter PREFIX is only displayed if parameter MEDIA NAME is set to a media that is assigned to media type DASD or OSS in the IOASPRM member. Parameters FSET and VSET are only displayed if parameter MEDIA NAME is set to a media that is assigned to a FileTek storage machine in member IOASPRM. The number of days specified in parameter REFRESH EVERY should be set according to the manufacturer’s recommendations for the physical media and the values specified in parameters AGE and RETENTION DAYS.
