Search Parameter (S)

When Control-V decollates, it identifies a range of one or more pages that belong to a specific recipient and have a specific report name. If search parameter (S) is set to A, a search is then made in the Active User Report list for an entry with the same user name, job name, report name, ODATE, and category. Such an entry is in WAIT DECOLLATION status (copied by the utility CTDCP2A). If a matching entry is found, the copy count, destination, form, class, printing missions (see parameter DO PRINT), and additional users information are taken from that entry. These parameters are described under User Reports (Online Viewing). The entry status is changed to WAIT PRINT (or DECOLLATED), and pointers in the entry refer to the correct pages in the CDAM file. If the entry is not found, the copy count value is taken from the DEFAULT COPIES field (of the ON statement or the general decollating mission default). Remaining parameters are set to default values unless specified by other means.

If your site retrieves this information from the Permanent User Report list (and does not permit user updates to the Active User Report list), the S=P option can be used. The search is performed on the Permanent User Report list only. This eliminates the need to perform a daily copy from the Permanent list to the Active list using utility CTDCP2A.

By entering S=N, a search is not performed and decollation speed is enhanced. Examples for the use of S=N include:

If not specified, the report is sent to the first of the following recipients that is specified:
