Balanced Data

The diamonds in the illustration in Figure 3, in How Control-M/Analyzer Works, are tagged according to the value determined by the machine after the analysis process. Similarly, the Runtime environment determines which data sources are accurate and valid. Data that successfully complete the balancing process are called Balanced Data.

Balancing results are returned to the rule and to the production job/application program. Using these balancing results and the JCL "COND" mechanism, execution of subsequent steps in the job can be controlled. In this manner, valid data sources continue to be processed in the production environment, while invalid data sources can be rejected. Rejecting invalid data sources is symbolized by the ejection of NOTOK diamonds from the machine.
