Deleting a Job

Control-M allows deletion of WAIT SCHEDULE jobs, jobs that are currently executing, or jobs that have finished executing. To be deleted, a job must be in HELD status. The deletion request is recorded in the IOA Log file. The job is logically deleted, that is, flagged as deleted, from the Active Jobs file immediately. It is physically deleted from the disk the next time cleanup (for example, New Day processing) is performed.

Note: Logically deleted jobs can be undeleted by option U (Undelete). When jobs are undeleted they are added back to the Active Jobs file with the same status they had prior to deletion.

To delete a job, type D (Delete) in the Option field to the left of the job and press Enter.

If a Confirmation window appears, enter Y (yes). See Delete Confirmation Window.

When you delete an executing job, the resources that were held by the job remain held until the next CKP (CHECKPOINT) cleanup process (usually at New Day time).
