Dynamic subsystem definition

There are number of ways a subsystem can be dynamically defined without having to perform an IPL.

• When an INCONTROL product or component is started and its subsystem is not defined, it can define the subsystem dynamically. The subsystem is added at the end of the subsystem chain and remains until the next IPL. Using this method, the subsystem does not have to be defined in IEFSSNnn.

  The decision whether dynamic definition is allowed is controlled by the IOA Installation SSALLOC parameter or, for the IOA Online Monitor, by the IOA Online Monitor global Dynamic definition parameter.

• The subsystem can be defined using the following operating system command:

  SETSSI ADD,SUB=xxxx

  where xxxx is the name of the subsystem
