Defining subsystems

In MVS, a subsystem can be defined dynamically or by adding it to an IEFSSNnn PARMLIB member. The definition in the IEFSSNnn member applies only after the next IPL. The dynamic definition applies immediately and lasts until the next IPL. The following topics describe how to define subsystems:

  Note: This section is relevant for the subsystems used by IOA, Control-D Compressed Access Method (CDAM), Control-O, Control-M Event Manager (CMEM), IOA Archive Server subsystem, and the IOA Online Monitor. This section does not deal with the Control-M/Tape subsystem which is explained in Installing Control-M/Tape.
