Step 6.3 – Allocate the Automation Log file

The DEFALO job defines the Control‑O Automation Log file.

Control‑O uses a separate Automation Log file for each computer on which it runs. A different library is allocated for each computer in which Control‑O is active.

For each computer where Control‑O executes, modify the parameters shown in the following table as appropriate.

Note: When specifying values for parameters or subparameters that include both unit and volser fields, you must either define both the Unit and Volser fields, or leave both of them blank. Do not enter a value for only one of them.

Table 102 Automation Log file parameters

Parameter

Description

UNIT

Unit where the Automation Log file will be allocated.

VOL

Volume where the Automation Log file will be allocated.

Note: The VOL parameter must specify a non‑SMS managed volume. In an SMS environment, use the SMS ACS member to specify the unit and volume for the Automation log file.

Submit the job and verify that all steps complete with a condition code of 0.

You must run this job (with different parameters) on every computer where Control‑O executes.
