Step 16.3 – Start IOA Online monitors (optional)

Start the IOA Online monitor by issuing the following operator command:

S IOAOMON1

If the IOA VTAM monitor is installed, start the VTAM monitor by issuing the following operator command:

S IOAVMON

Alternatively, edit the COMMNDxx member in SYS1.PARMLIB to add the following commands:

S IOASINIT,OPTIONS=D  Initialize CDAM sub‑system after IPL.

S CONTROLD         Start the Control‑D Monitor after IPL.

S IOAVMON          Start the IOA VTAM Monitor after IPL (Optional).

Control‑D can now be accessed by the Online Tracking and Control facility. Control‑D shuts itself down at the time specified in the TIME parameter and runs the daily procedure CTDNDAY. This procedure starts Control‑D for a new day.

The libraries you have loaded contain examples that can help you check some Control‑D functions. The Control‑D Getting Started Guide illustrates how some of these examples can be used.
