Your BMC distributor provides your site with one or more printouts containing password data for Control-D. The product ordered is licensed to run on one or more computers for a specific period of time.
Note: If BMC supplied you with a site licence, copy the printout to the PASCTD member.
The PASCTD member in the IOA.PARM library must be updated with the password data from the printouts provided by the distributor. The data contained in this member is used by the IOA password mechanism to verify that Control-D is authorized to run on the specific CPU ID and model. The password members contain the following parameters:
The PROD parameter line contains the name Control-D and the expiration date of the password in yymmdd format.
The CPU IDs and models present at the site can be obtained by specifying the D M=CPU MVS command on each mainframe CPU where Control-D is to run. As a result of this command, the CPU ID and model (such as 9021 or 9221) is displayed. In the following example, the CPU ID is 0D0620, and the CPU model number is 9221:
PROCESSOR STATUS
ID CPU SERIAL
0 + 0D06209221
1 + 1D06209221
+ ONLINE - OFFLINE.
DOES NOT EXIST
The following example illustrates a completed Control‑D password member:
PROD = Control-D / 080417
START = 070418
CPUID = 231234 9021
CPUID = 140564 9121
PASS = 86243457 D324389C 58349852
TYPE = LICENCE
Note: This site has a permanent licence for Control-D, starting April 18, 2007 and ending April 17, 2008. The authorized CPU IDs are 231234 (model 9021) and 140564 (model 9121).
The following additional considerations may apply when you edit the Control‑D password member:
Note: If new INCONTROL products are added, or a CPU is added, replaced or removed, your BMC representative will tell you how to modify the appropriate password members.
