For each application server you want to add, insert values for the parameters shown in the following table and press Enter.

Note: A multiple number of application server definitions can be created in one ECAPARM member. Each ECAPARM APSERVER statement generated by the Add function defines one Application Server address space. The maximum number of application server address spaces per channel is 8.

If the Control‑M Application Server (CTMAS) or the Control-M Configuration Manager Application Server (CTMCAS) are to be used, Control‑M/Enterprise Manager 6.3.xx must already be installed and running on either the UNIX or the Windows side of the connection. For more information, see Step 21 – Install Control-M Application Server.

The Control‑D/Page On Demand (D) application supports multiple Application Server address spaces for the same application.

For a large number of concurrent connections (100 or more), it is recommended that at least 4 application servers be defined.

Table 36 Parameters for the Add New Application Server screen

Parameter

Description

Application

1-character code for the Application Server to be added.

Valid values are:

  • C - Control-M Configuration Manager
  • D - Control‑D/Page On Demand
  • F - Control‑D File Transfer option
  • M - Control‑M
  • O - Control‑O
  • J - Control-M/JCL Verify

Channel

Two alphanumeric characters that serve as an ID to designate the channel for the application server being added. This ID is referred to when the channel is defined.

Procedure

Name of the procedure that IOAGATE must run when it starts the application server.

The following default values will be used if none is coded:

  • CTMCAS for application C
  • IOAAS for application D
  • IOAAS for application F
  • CTOAS for application O
  • CTMAS for application M
  • CTJAS for application J

Notes:

  • The default procedure cannot be used if you have changed any of the default prefixes IOA, CTO or CTM. In such a case, you must specify the new name by substituting the new prefixes for IOA, CTM or CTO, as appropriate, in the default values. For example, if the default prefix CTM has been changed to XYZ, you must specify XYZAS instead of CTMAS.
  • Do not be concerned if the following message is displayed next to your application server:

Channel xx is not defined

You can use the Channel parameter to define channels.

  • When you have finished adding new Application Servers, press PF03/PF15. The Create/Update Application Server screen reappears, with the new Application Server displayed.
