Step 16.1 – Define a VTAM Application

The IOA VTAM Online facility must be defined in the VTAM definition library (SYS1.VTAMLST). It requires only one VTAM application ID, and can be defined as an independent MAJOR NODE or as a MINOR NODE. The VTAM application name should be the same as the value of the ACBNAME, which is defined in the IOAXPRM member. For details, see Step 10 – Install IOA online monitor (optional).

The following is an example of a MAJOR NODE definition:

IOAAPPL     VBUILD     TYPE=APPL

CTMS        APPL       EAS=200,ACBNAME=CTMS,AUTH=(SPO,ACQ)

In this example 200 is the number of buffers.

Define the application to VTAM by creating a member named IOAAPPL in the SYS1.VTAMLST library based on the above example.
