Exception Handling

If the migration job abends in the first step (MIGRAT), the status of the migration mission is changed to ENDED-NOTOK. When this happens, check why the abend occurred and correct the problem. After the problem has been corrected, rerun the migration mission from the Active Missions file.

If the migration job abends during the second step (ANALYZE), the status of the migration mission remains MIGRATION IN PROCESS. When this happens, reset the migration mission status to ENDED through the MIGRESET job in the Control-D JCL library. For more information on the MIGRESET utility, refer to the Control-D and Control-V utilities chapter of the INCONTROL for z/OS Utilities Guide.

If a migration mission ends NOTOK because one or more CDAM files did not migrate successfully, the same mission can be rerun by specifying option R in the Active Missions Environment screen, or it can be reordered. In either case, only CDAM files that did not migrate successfully during the previous run are migrated.

Submitting a partially run migration job does not create duplicate copies of files on the target media. The migration job verifies that each file is cataloged, with the appropriate migration prefix.
