If a print stream report is decollated in Control-D for z/OS through an ON TRNDSN or an ON TRNCLASS statement, its Resource ID is put into a .cfg file. Control- D for DS retrieves the Resource Set record from Active User File and determines which resources are needed for report transformation. The resources are retrieved from the mainframe through POD and are put into the Distribution Server transformer\res directory. When the same or a similar report is distributed again, all resources are already located on the local disk, so they will not be retrieved again from the mainframe.
If the distributed report is decollated in the standard manner, that is, through an ON CLASS or an ON DSN statement, the transformation process takes its resources from the transformer\res directory. The resources for the report must be put in the transformer\res directory manually.
