AFP Page Mode Output

Any AFP report (including Page Mode reports) can be decollated by Control‑D. Decollating includes identifying each page of a report with identifying strings and assigning the pages to recipients accordingly. Control‑D recognizes page breaks in AFP Page Mode output (CATEGORY 5).

Searching for a string in Page Mode output can be performed on the entire line of data, as supported by AFP (from column 1 to column 32767).

Page Mode output is usually produced by DCF (IBM’s mainframe word processor) when making Composed AFP documents, by GDDM and other software tools (such as SLR) that use GDDM for producing graphic reports and PostScript output (translated to AFP Structured Fields), and by application programs.
