The elapsed time of a job is the amount of time between the start of the job and the end of the job. The elapsed time of a SMART Table is calculated in a similar way. The elapsed time of a SMART Table is the amount of time between the start of the first job of the SMART Table and the end of the last job of the SMART Table.

The calculation of the elapsed time of a job is based on IBM time-related messages. The table shows the principal IBM time-related messages that are generated when most jobs run.

IEF403I

This message displays the time that the processing of the job began, after any resource contention problem had been resolved. This message appears in the first part of the job output stream.

IEF404I

This message displays the time that the processing of the job ended. The message appears in the first part of the job output stream.

IEF375I

This message displays the time that the job was first initiated into the system, which may have occurred before any resource contention problem was resolved. The message appears in the third part of the job output stream.

IEF376I

This message displays the time that the processing of the job ended. The message appears in the third part of the job output stream.
