Enlarging IOA Variable Databases

There are different IOA Variable Database types; each is specified in the DAGLBLST concatenation of the Control-O or CMEM monitor. Each database type, shown in the following list, may require different kinds and amounts of resources to provide their respective functionality:

• When allocating (or enlarging) an IOA Variable Database, you need to know which additional demand you are adding, and on which particular resources or combination of them. This is required to allocate them appropriately. Included among the resources to be considered when preparing to enlarge or allocate an IOA Variable Database are the
• amount of ECSA needed to store the variables
• size of the required navigation control structure to the variables
• amount of ECSA needed for navigation control structures to the variables
• disk space
• coupling facility space
