Modifying INCONTROL Product Defaults

After one or more INCONTROL products are installed and running, certain defaults can be modified within the product. For example, you can increase the number of Control‑M attempts to read a job’s sysout.

To modify INCONTROL product defaults, it is recommended that you perform the process by means of ICE:

  1. Enter the main ICE screen.
  2. Select Customization.
  3. Enter IOA in the Product field.
  4. Select Product Customization.
  5. Select major step 5, "Customize IOA Defaults."

Then, do the following:

  1. Review documentation member IOADFLTS that lists the defaults that can be modified. This member resides in the IOA DOC library.
  2. Copy the appropriate lines from member IOADFLT (in source format) in the IOAENV library to the localized version of this member, called IOADFLTL in the IOA PARM library. Make the necessary modifications in member IOADFLTL, leaving member IOADFLT intact. This is detailed in documentation member IOADFLTS.

Note: Because only differences are contained in member IOADFLTL, it is easy to track which changes have been implemented.

  3. In addition to member IOADFLTL in the PARM library, there may be user exits in the IOA SAMPEXIT library that can be applied to modify default processing within a specific product.

Note: Changes take effect "immediately" (that is, when the relevant product's monitor is restarted).
