Interface to IBM Health Checker

When the Control-M/Tape interface to the IBM Health Checker facility is enabled, IBM Health Checker runs appropriate checks to ascertain the status of vital Control-M/Tape components. If potential problems are detected, you receive alerts through the Health Checker reporting facilities. IBM Health Checker performs checks for the following healthy states of Control-M/Tape components:

• Major Control-M/Tape control blocks are accessible.
• All Tape Label Processing (TLP) Exit routines of Control-M/Tape are installed and active.
• Control-M/Tape Dynamic Write to Operator (WTO) interface is active.
• The SVC routine installed by Control-M/Tape is active.

The Control-M/Tape interface to IBM Health Checker is controlled by parameters HCHECKT and HCINTRVT in the CTTPARM member of the IOA PARM library. These parameters specify whether to enable the Health Checker interface and the time interval for health checks.

The Control-M/Tape interface to the IBM Health Checker facility is supported on z/OS versions 2.2 and later.
