Installing Control-M for WJM on Control-M/Agent on Windows

This procedure describes how to install Control-M for WJM on Control-M/Agent on Windows.

If you want to install multiple instances of Control-M for WJM on several computers using the same configuration, use the automatic installation, as described in this procedure.

Before You Begin

Ensure the following:

• Verify that all jobs running on Control-M/Agent have ended.
• (Upgrade only) Stop the Java, Web Services and Messaging plug-ins, as described in Shutting down Control-M for Web Services, Java, or Messaging.

To install Control-M for WJM on Control-M/Agent on Windows:

1. Log in to the computer as a user who has Administrator authorization.
2. Do one of the following:
   • From the installation DVD, double-click the setup.exe file.
   • Open a command prompt window as an Administrator and type <DVDROM_path>\setup.exe.
3. From the Product Settings - Select application window, select BMC Control-M for Web Services, Java and Messaging.

   NOTE: If you have a previous version of any of the following products, Control-M for WJM automatically detects and upgrades during the installation process:

   • Control-M for Web Services
   • Control-M for Java
   • Control-M for Messaging
4. Do one of the following:
   • Interactive install: Continue with the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete.
   • Automatic install: Do the following:
     1. Continue with the on-screen instructions until the Summary window.
     2. Click Generate and select the location to create the XML parameter file.
     3. Click Yes.
     4. The automatic installation XML parameters file that is created (<filename>.xml) is relevant only for computers with the same agent instance name. Otherwise, a separate <filename>.xml file must be created for each computer, or modified manually for each computer.
     5. Copy the automatic installation parameters file to a network location that is accessible to all computers where you want to perform an automatic installation.
     6. Run the installation script, as follows:

        >cd <DVD>\Windows\Setup_files\components\cm\cmbpi

        >setup –silent <filename.xml>

   The installation log can be found at the following location:

   BMCINSTALL\log\cmwjm\BMC_Control-M_For WSJM_Install_<timestamp>.log

   In case of installation failure, the log file is located in the following location:

   %temp%\BMC_Control-M_For WSJM_Install_<timestamp>.log

5. Install Control-M for WJM on Control-M/EM before using the Control-M Configuration Manager, as described in Installation on Control-M/EM.
6. To use the Control-M for WJM in the Control-M Configuration Manager, you must run the ctmgetcm utility in the Control-M/Server, as described in ctmgetcm in Control-M Utilities.

   NOTE: You can skip this step if you have Control-M/Agent and Server 8.0.00 FP4 or higher.
