The first stage in the Application Integrator development process is to create or import a job type.
The Control-M Application Integrator enables you to select one of the following job types:
NOTE: Control-M Application Integrator consists of a web designer and an application plug-in, part of which resides in Control-M/Agent and the other part in Control-M. The job types that you create or download from the Control-M Application Hub are deployed through the application plug-in, which executes the commands or web service operations. BMC recommends you carefully examine which commands and operations are used in job types that you create or download from the Control-M Application Hub to ensure proper execution of the jobs. While BMC provides support for the web designer and the application plug-in of Application Integrator, BMC does not support the job types that you create or download from the Control-M Application Hub. You are solely responsible for all of the job types that you create or download from the Control-M Application Hub and their functionality.
To prevent any unwanted results caused by the imported job type, you should carefully review the job types that you import and make necessary changes, before you deploy them into your environment.
When logging into the Application Integrator, it automatically connects to the default Control-M/EM GUI Server. If you want to change the GUI Server you need to create a cfg file, as described in Creating a communication configuration file.
In the Home Page tab, you can see a list of job types that you are working on and those that have been deployed to Control-M. When you hover the job type you can see the job type properties, such as Name, Plug-in ID, Owner, created, updated and deployed dates. The following procedures describe how to duplicate and delete a job type and to edit job type details.
If you want to edit the job type, such as parameters, from the Main Page tab, click the job type that you want to edit. You can also undeploy a job type. For more information, see Job type deployment.
After you have created a job type, you can start defining the job type, as described in Job type definition.
