Defining VMware Power Task jobs

This procedure describes how to define VMware Power Task jobs, such as starting up, shutting down, suspending, and resetting VMs, as well as, rebooting a guest, shutting down a guest, and performing a standby guest operation.

Before You Begin

Ensure that you have a configured VMware account, as described in Control-M for Cloud.

To define a VMware Power Task job:

  1. From the Connection profile field, click Load.

The Connection Profile Selection dialog box appears.

  2. Select a VMware connection profile, and click OK.
  3. From the Category dropdown list, select Power Tasks.
  4. From the Task menu, select one of the tasks, as described in VMware Power Tasks.
  5. For each field that appears, depending on the task that you selected, type or select the required value, as described in Power Tasks parameter descriptions.

For more information about defining a job in the job editing form, see the Control-M User Guide.
