This procedure describes how to define a job from Control-M for Cloud that creates an Amazon EC2 VM instance.
Before You Begin
Ensure that you have a configured Amazon EC2 account, as described in Control-M for Cloud.
To create an Amazon EC2 VM instance:
From the Connection Profile field, click .
The Connection ProfileSelection dialog box appears.
Select an Amazon EC2 connection profile, and click OK.
The Connection Profile field is set.
From the Operation dropdown list, select Create.
In the Instance Details area, do the following:
From the AMI ID dropdown list, select an AMI ID type, and then click and select the AMID ID that matches your requirements for the VM instance.
In the Availability Zone field, click and select the geographical location where you want this VM instance to reside.
In the Instance Type field, click and select the hardware specification (CPU, memory capacity) that matches your requirements for the VM instance.
To enable the Subnet ID, select the Launch Instances Into Your Virtual Private Cloud checkbox.
Click and select a subset of IP addresses within your VPC.
In the Host Group field, type the name of the host group that you want this VM instance to join.
If the host group that that you typed does not exist, it will be created during job submission.
If you want to extend your existing security and management policies to your VPC so that the EC2 objects run as if they were in your own infrastructure, select the Launch Instances Into Your Virtual Private Cloud checkbox.
Click Advanced Options and do the following:
In the Kernel ID field, click and select the Kernel ID that is related to the operating system of the VM instance (non-cluster instance type only).
In the RAM Disk ID field, click and select the ID of the RAM Disk for this VM instance (non-cluster instance type only).
To view the CPU, Disk, application, and network usage of the VM instance, select the Enable CloudWatch detailed monitoring for this instance checkbox.
If you want to Load a detailed description for this VM instance, write it in the User Data field.
To enable the IP Address field, select the Launch Instances Into Your Virtual Private Cloud checkbox.
Type the IP address for your VPC.
Click OK.
Click Tags.
The Tags dialog box appears.
Apply names and values to the VM instances that help you organize, browse, and search your resources.
Example: Key = Name, Value = Web server.
You can create up to ten tags for each instance.
In the Security Properties area, do the following:
In the Key Pair field, click , and select the key that authenticates this VM instance.
In the Security Groups field, click , and select one or more security encryption format for this VM instance.
The selected security groups appear in the table.
