Defining a Control-M for Messaging job

This procedure describes how to define a Control-M for Messaging job, which enables you to run Java jobs and reports on a Control-M for WJM server.

Before You Begin

Ensure that you have met the following requirements:

• A configured Control-M for Messaging connection profile, as described for the Connection profile management.
• Successful completion of Accessing the WJM job properties pane.

To define a Control-M for Messaging job:

1. From the Connection Profile field, type the connection profile, or click .

   The Connection Profile Selection dialog box appears.

2. Select the connection profile that you want to use to run an Control-M for Java job or report, and click OK.

   The Connection Profile field is set.

3. In the Action type field, define the message to be sent to the queue, by selecting one of the following:
   • Use Predefined Message: Specifies a predefined message associated with your account.
   • Use free text message: Defines a required message context in the open field. For an example, see: Example Free text message.
   • Wait for Reply Only: Enables you to wait and consume a message from the reply queue/topic, as defined in the account.
4. To change settings, click Advanced Message Settings.

   The Advanced Message Settings dialog box appears. For more information, see: Advanced Message Settings.

   NOTE: Parameters are enabled or disabled according to how the connection profile is configured. Use Default refers to the specified default for this configuration.

5. From the Advanced Message Settings dialog box, click OK.
6. Do one the following:
   • If you want to assign the job output to a variable, click Assign Job Output to the following variable and type the variable you want to assign.
   • If you want to assign job output to a file, click Assign Job Output to the following file, and type the file you want to assign the job.

   NOTE: Only applicable if the job or account is set up with reply option.

7. If you do not want the job Output displayed, click Exclude Job Output.
8. If you do not want header information banner and the outgoing message added to the Output, click No Output Banner.
